Overview

You will develop both creative and technical camera and digital skills and build up a substantial portfolio of your own photography inspired by the work of established artists and photographers. You will look at the work of other photographers and learn how to analyse and evaluate images using specialist terms and vocabulary.

Details

This course will allow you to become more confident and explore your own ideas when developing your photographic skills. You will learn how to use a digital camera and you’ll explore and learn about Photographers and how they have taken photos which capture their interests and iconic moments in time. You’ll learn how to use Photoshop to digitally enhance your imagery and also hands-on experimental image manipulation. You’ll develop your own interests and portfolio of photography work as the course progresses. You’ll be able to take your unique portfolio of work at the end of the course to university or job interviews.

What can I do next?

At the end of the course you will have a full and interesting portfolio of photographic work. Photography is particularly useful if you want to go on to further study in art and design, media and film, photography and digital imaging, as well as being a valuable practical skill. You may wish to use your portfolio to support applications for a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design or specialist Degree level courses.
