A Level Results 2019!

Students at Longley Park Sixth Form celebrated their achievements on A Level results day. 16-19 year olds at Longley Park attained an improved Advanced Level pass rate of 98% and a record number of the very highest grades.

Overall Longley Park students achieved a staggering 210 passes at A*and Distinction*, with a further 212 A grades and Distinctions.

Principal, Mo Nisbet, commented on the success: “We are delighted to see an improvement in our Advanced Level pass rate and that so many of our students continue to achieve grades that will take them on to the most competitive universities in the country. Our students are very ambitious and it is wonderful to share their success. ”

Celebrating their results this week are students Claire-Marie Bath and Dylan Barker. Following two years of study at Longley Park, Claire-Marie has achieved an A* grade in A Level Maths, A* in Fine Art and A in Religious Studies. She will now go on to study at the University of Edinburgh. Meanwhile Dylan has achieved an A* grade in A Level English Literature, A in Politics and A in History and will be studying History at the University of Oxford next year.

Since opening in 2004, thousands of students from Longley Park Sixth Form have progressed onto study a wide range of subjects at universities across the country. Vice Principal Donald Mclean said: “We expect around 85% of Longley Park students will progress on to university this year”. He added: “As always, we are pleased to see our students achieving their goals and progressing to the next stage in their life.’ He attributes the success to the high aspirations, hard work and commitment shown by students over the two years of study and to the support and dedication provided by teachers.
