GCSE and Level 1 and 2 Results day 20 August 2020

How can I get my results?

The process for results days will be slightly different this year. This is to maintain good social distancing whilst at the same time not keeping you waiting for your results. Your results will be available on Cedar from 8am on Thursday 20 August. You will also receive an email confirming that your results have been released. Please make sure you are able to log in to CEDAR in advance of Thursday. If you have forgotten your password or experience any problems, please email itsupport@brigantiatrust.net. Your results slips will be posted out on the same day.

What do I do when I get my results?

If you a current students who is progressing, you do not need to do anything. You should have a date and time for induction or enrolment and we can discuss things with you then.

If you are a new student and have already applied you should have received an enrolment appointment. We will discuss your GCSE results and finalise your course choices when we see you next week. If you haven’t yet applied, give us a call on 0114 262 5757 and we can book you in to enrol.

If you are student who is moving on to University or an apprenticeship, please check your UCAS track to confirm the status of your offer or contact the apprenticeship provider. If you need any advice or support in relation to this, don’t hesitate to give us a call.

If you need to discuss anything about your results, no matter what your situation,  we are here for you and will be available via phone all day.

How have exam boards produced grades this year?

You will have seen a lot in the media recently about A Level and GCSE results. On Monday 17 August, the government announced that all GCSE results will be awarded on the basis of Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs). The CAG is a grade that school or college would expect a student to have achieved had they sat the exam as planned.

If my grades are lower than what I was expecting, can I resit?

If your grades are lower than expected, there is an opportunity to resit in the Autumn series. There is a lot to consider when deciding whether to resit. Give us a call and we can talk to you about what would be involved in this. It is likely you would sit an exam in October/November and receive a result in December. If you do wish to resit, please contact Reception and leave your details. A member of the Leadership Team will be in touch.

Certificates

You will be contacted when certificates are available for collection. Please let the Sixth Form know if you move address. If you wish to pay the £3.50 postage cost your certificates will be sent by Recorded Delivery to the address you have given us as soon as they are processed (Approx. December). Complete the enclosed postage form and hand in to a member of exams staff with your money.

If you require any further information relating to any of the above please contact the exams staff as a matter of urgency.
