5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A*-C) including English and Maths. Previous study of drama is useful, but not essential. However, you do need to be confident and willing to take part in performances.
This is a practical course with an emphasis on developing your skills and confidence as a performer.
You will study a range of acting techniques across different theatrical styles, including analysing the work of practitioners. Group performance workshops will help you develop and apply these skills in your own acting and you will take part in a number of performances throughout the year.
A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.
Performing Arts students go on to a variety of different careers. Some do on to study specialist Drama and Performing Arts courses at University or Drama School. Others will go on to academic degrees and careers across a range of sectors using the self-confidence and communication and presentation skills gained on the course.
