We want every student to thrive and provide opportunities to access support in many different ways. The learning support team are a dedicated and experienced team of staff that assist students who have learning difficulties or disabilities. They can support students with a wide range of needs including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, Autistic spectrum conditions, sensory impairments, physical difficulties and medical conditions. Alongside the support team, all teachers and staff working with students receive current and relevant training to assist them with meeting the needs of students with SEND.
Our dedicated team will work with you to identify your individual strengths and needs. They will liaise with your teachers, academic tutors and other support staff to provide you with the support to help you excel and meet the demands of your chosen course. The support may include the following depending on your needs:
If you have an Education Health and Care (EHC) plan you will be supported through transition to Longley Park. Support will be planned with you, your parents/ carers and any other relevant professionals. You will be supported to achieve the agreed outcomes on your EHC plan alongside your academic progress. A dedicated support key worker will help you to plan your next steps after your time at Longley Park and consider your future goals and aspirations.
