Here at Longley Park we are always proud of our students' achievements in and out of the sixth form. Most recently our student Becca, who is studying A Level Maths, Psychology and L3 Criminology, has achieved another medal in martial arts. Read her story below.

I have been at Sheffield Mushin Ryu for almost 4 years now. I started when I was 13 years old and within 12 months, I attended my first ever World Championships in 2019 after qualifying. I was rewarded with a Junior Instructor Belt and gained the title, Senpai Becca.

I then smashed it and became a World Champion 2 times in the category of 13-15 -45kg in my points and continuous fighting. I previously went to my 2022 World Championships at the start of October and ended up fighting an adult alongside my own age and weight. I came away with Gold, making me a new World Champion for age 16-17 -55kg, even though my category got merged with an older and heavier category.

I also previously got promoted to Sensei Becca and now a full instructor with my own Saturday class for teaching. I have a total of 30+ medals and trophies collected over 2 years of fighting.

Winning gold in multiple comps gave me the titles of:

- 3x World Champion
- 5x National/British Champion
- Multiple International Champion
- Regional Champion
- Multiple Interclub Champion
- 2x Legacy Challenge Champion
- 3x European Champion
