The Longley Bear design was something we thought that all staff and students could get involved in and have a small area to paint their own designs on.  However, due to Covid restrictions this wasn’t possible, so we asked one of our Art technicians to outline the design for us.  Julia Strupiechowska is an ex-student of Longley Park Sixth Form and has worked with us for a number of years.  She painted the bear to a brief that was given to her.

Webster the bear is named after Linda Webster who has been with the sixth form since its inception in 2004 (17 years).  The leadership team chose the name Webster as Linda has done a lot of fundraising over the years for various charities and especially the Children’s Hospital and for her long-time commitment to the sixth form.

Longley Park is so excited about being involved with the Bears of Sheffield.   We have a chosen a charity every year and have supported the Children’s Hospital on several occasions.

We think the Bears of Sheffield is a fantastic idea as it will be a permanent fixture in the sixth form once the trail is finished.
