Physics gives you the opportunity to investigate and understand some of the fundamental laws of the universe, ranging from the tiniest particles of matter to vast star systems.
Interested in exploring the fundamental laws of the universe, from the tiniest of particles to vast star systems? Physics combines practical skills with theoretical ideas to develop descriptions of the physical universe, helps you to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and allows you to investigate hot topics such as global warming and technology. Threaded throughout will be lots of opportunities to visit and speak with employers and universities and gain other amazing experiences such as trips to CERN and Jodrell Bank. From mechanics, electricity and theory of waves to gravitational, electrical and magnetic forces, Physics opens up a Universe of possibilities!
A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.
You will complete exams at the end of the 2 year course whilst also gaining practical endorsement.
The possibilities are endless after studying Physics; it is a great starting point for further study of natural science and engineering as well as medicine, radiography and even teaching. You could be a future environmental or computer scientist, the next Brian Cox or even a future astronaut. Teamed together with other subjects - science, engineering, business, IT or health you can find the right combination for a wealth of different careers.
