At least two GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including Maths) plus at least a 4 in English
This course is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression to an A Level and single Applied General qualification study programme in the Humanities and Social Science curriculum.
Students will study GCSE Sociology, with themes including:
• The sociology of families, education and social stratification
• Crime and deviance
• Areas of social theory and methodology
Alongside this you will carry out an independent dissertation style project in an area of your choice, which you will research, write and present.
2 x 1hr 45min exams.
Research Project, presentation and essay.
Students can progress to a Level 3 or A Level programme of study (Humanities and/or Social Science) within the sixth form.
